IBM announced a second version of INNOV8, a serious game that helps students and professionals hone their business and technology skills in a compelling, familiar video game format. With this fun teaching tool, students can step into a dynamic business environment and visualize how technology and related strategies affect an organization's performance.

Ontario universities to get software through the cloud
Ontario Centres of Excellence in Canada launched a pilot project that will give university students, professors, and other researchers anytime, anywhere access to some of IBM's leading business software via cloud computing. This Tools as a Service (TaaS) technology showcase will offer 24/7 access to IBM's WebSphere Integration Developer and Rational Software Architect over the Internet.

The IBM Academic Initiative System z announced the results of the 2008 U.S./Canada Master the Mainframe Contest with the participation of 1,876 students from 325 schools across the U.S. and Canada, including 66 high schools.
