  • Our relationship is uniquely collaborative
  • We invest in IBM Business Partners’ success
  • We strive to provide the industry’s best Business Partner experience
  • We work with Business Partners to seize the opportunities of a smarter planet
  • We ground our relationships in the core values of IBM

Sam Palmisano, IBM's CEO, stated earlier this year '... In this world undergoing such rapid and profound change, the IBM Business Partner Charter represents our commitment to what never changes about our relationship, while renewing it for a very different world.  Together, I believe, we can shape a new era of leadership and growth ...”.  The role you play in our success is undeniable.  Let's continue to work together to successfully address our customers' challenges and grow our respective businesses.

Complete Selling Application Modernization on System z course.
One of the first steps in any successful modernization of a company's applications is to document or inventory the existing applications, providing a company with the deep analysis and insight into those existing applications and allow them to leverage those investments. Rational Application-portfolio management tools can read the source-code artifacts from across the enterprise, record relationships between them in a repository, and can then augment this information with business information with business information to develop management intelligence about the applications.

Complete Selling Eclipse Based Development Tools in a System z Environment course.
Today companies are deploying composite applications that include portions that run on platforms other than the mainframe. A common developer workbench like Eclipse which allows developers to add application construction tools, as well as other productivity enhancing functions, can provide several benefits to a mainframe development group. These benefits can include common tools for all cross platform components, easier communications among developers, and improved ability to attract the next generation of developers. In this session we'll explore these and other benefits of a common developer workbench and processes. This overview will include Rational products that fit this definition, specifically, products like Rational Developer for System z (RDz), ClearCase, ClearQuest, etc.

DB2 X for z/OS Technical Preview
  • Teleconference: November 3
  • DB2 X has a lot for everyone. Your organization needs to lower operating costs thru CPU cycle reductions while still building a strong foundation for SOA and XML initiatives. Database Administrators (DBAs) will find improved database performance, scalability, and availability. Memory management is dramatically reduced, so growth is much simpler. DBAs also get more flexible security to help with regulatory compliance. A wide range of enhancements improve ERP application and data warehouse functionality and performance. Large object (LOB) performance and flexibility are improved. Many DBA tasks are simplified.
  • Application developers will be most excited by the second release of pureXML, which improves the SQL and XML interface to access XML data stored in a native format. Application developers need powerful new SQL enhancements. Improved SQL and data definition compatibility with other DB2 platforms makes porting much easier

IMS 11: Easier than ever
  • Teleconference: November 10
  • This overview of the major enhancements in IMS 11 covers the new features in the areas of Database and Transaction Management. Focus is on increased availability, scalability, connectivity and ease of use.
  • Many features make IMS 11 easier than ever. Direct SQL access to IMS data from any distributed platform and easier connectivity through TCP/IP significantly simplies (and in some cases eliminates) the data replication and change capture processes. With JAVA support, IMS 11 helps you leverage a larger number of developers to build IMS applications. Reduced complexity of creating database recovery points, reduced CPU time for online database reorganization processing, and easier capacity optimization all add up to easier operations.
