Nominations are open for IBM Fellowship Awards
IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Awards is a competitive, worldwide program honoring exceptional Ph.D. students who have an interest in solving problems that are important to IBM and fundamental to innovation. Faculty can nominate their Ph.D. students through October 29, 2009.
First of its kind, Green IT college degree announced
Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska is the first to develop a green data center management degree using IBM hardware, software and online skills training resources. The data center is built upon IBM Power Systems servers running AIX, IBM i and Linux environments, and the two-year associates degree includes courses to help students gain technical and business skills to prepare them for careers in the design and management of energy-efficient data centers.
IBM Destination z Scholarships for students
The Destination z community is running its second annual Destination z Enterprise Computing Scholarship program, which awards students in the U.S. for excellence in large systems coursework at Destination z member schools in the United States. To enroll your school in the program, send an e-mail to zskills@us.ibm.com. Then encourage your students to download the application.
Encourage your students to compete and "Master the Mainframe"
College and high school students who are looking for a challenge can take charge of a world-class system in this hands-on "big iron" contest. No experience necessary. Prizes include T-shirts, prepaid debit cards, Lenovo netbooks and Samsung HDTVs. Registration is open to students in USA and Canada (excluding Quebec).
