The Global Chief Information Officer Study: Insights for Healthcare
Provider CIOs
This fall, IBM released its first Global CIO Study, The New Voice of the CIO. The study expands on the understanding
that the role of the Chief Information Officer has changed from utility manager to strategic business leader and that, across
the executive suite, business leaders understand that CIOs are a driving force behind the technologies that drive the business.
Its insights are based on analyzing the responses of more than 2,500 CIOs from 78 countries, 19 industries and organizations
of every size, including 70 healthcare provider organizations.
Care delivery is evolving into a patient-centric, collaborative and information-driven world. This smarter world
is being enabled by greater use of technology. And nowhere are the growing pains of this changing world felt as deeply
as in the hospital CIO's office.
In our study, CIO’s in healthcare provider organizations responded with more extreme ratings – across the
board – than CIO’s in any other industry, regarding their priorities for visionary plans to enhance competitiveness.
How can CIO’s position their organizations to leverage and benefit from these changes? In spite of the economy,
what are leading organizations doing? What actions can CIO’s take? How can CIO’s raise their
game and drive greater organizational impact? And how can they navigate the continuum of opportunities - from cost-cutting
to collaboration – in order to deliver the needed direction and results to their organizations?
We invite you to learn more about how Healthcare Provider CIOs responded by viewing The Global Chief Information Officer Study: Insights for Healthcare Provider CIOs.
